Today's word of the day is one of my favorite words in the Persian language, and quite frankly, I can't believe it's taken me this long to make it the WOD. It's so awesome that it even has its own brand of tea in Iran. Here you have it:
دبش / debsh / nice, lovely
I think debsh must also be one of my mom's favorite words because it was her frequent use that made me pay attention to it in the first place. She uses it mostly when she makes tea and asks me, "Would you like a chai debsh?" Mind you, she's not referring to the brand. She simply means a nice, lovely tea that hits the spot! If I cooked a delicious ash, soup, I might say, "I made a ash-e debsh." Or "I ate a chelow kabob-e debsh!"
Don't you already love debsh?
