I started this blog a few months ago as a hobby and a place to share my love of teaching languages and sharing random aspects of Iranian culture. I hoped that a few people would read and see that Iran is so much more than politics. I never expected to make so many amazing connections with people all across the globe who also share my love of Iranian culture and are curious to know more. From readers learning Persian, to past and future travelers to Iran... it's been amazing.
I was even lucky enough to be in touch with the lovely Marjan Kamali, author of Together Tea. We kept in touch after she was kind enough to read my review of her novel. After doing numerous readings across the country, she made it to my neck of the woods for the Fall for the Book festival, and we met for-what else- tea!
Just wanted to write a quick thank you to express my sincere gratitude to my new friend Marjan joon for taking the time to meet me during her busy schedule. We are all so proud of you! Although I had read Together Tea, it was quite a treat to hear her read the scene in which Darya explains her spreadsheet system for trying to find a husband for Mina, convinced that Mr. Dashti is the one for her.
Thank you Marjan joon, and thank you to all my lovely readers.
