Wooden Mosque

There are so many beautiful, intricately designed, colorful mosques throughout Iran, but on my last trip I discovered that there is a wooden one called Masjed Choobi in Neyshabur. It's a small, simple mosque, and the only one of its kind. I especially liked the design on the roof and two minarets. Everything in the area- library, restaurant, garbage cans- is made out of wood. They say the mosque was built to withstand an 8 magnitude earthquake- let's hope we never have to find out if that's true.

Worth a visit if you are in the area or passing through!
